When performing research, we expect you to... 1. Use photos that are free to use or share. You can do this by finding photos that are labeled for reuse in Google's Advanced Search. 2. Give credit to online images. How do I attribute an image?
3. Evaluate and select websites based on their reliability. Ask yourself... What does the domain name/country code tell me about this site? Are the links included in the website from a trusted source? Who is the author? When was the website published?
4. Cite sources. You can do this by following these guidelines: Printed text: record the author(s), title, publisher and date of publication Website: record the website address (for example, http://www.un.org/Pubs/CyberSchoolBus/index.html) Interview: record the name, location, role of the person and the date of the interview Experiment: record the equipment and method used, the results and conclusions Created Work: record the title, artist and reference (museum, recording) if appropriate
Where can you find reliable information? When students are using outside search engines and online sites such as Wikipedia to locate information, we expect you to make sure that the information is accurate and valid.

You can also visit our UNIS Online Resources, for a list of databases (ex. online encylopedias) that the school is subscribing to.
