PYP Coordinator - Christopher Frost
As PYP Coordinator, Mr Chris' job is to generally oversee the running of the Exhibition and to assist the Grade 5 teachers wherever that need may arise. One of his jobs is to ensure that the UNIS Exhibition adheres to all of the IB standards and practices and also the IB Exhibition Guidelines. Mr Chris will attend Exhibition planning meetings and will help to organize and then attend parent information sessions. It is his job to check that all documentation of the Exhibition is up-to-date and to let teachers' know if something needs improved or edited. His specific roles include: overseeing the Exhibition website - he will check that each year sections are updated. Mr. Chris will post weekly reflections and add photos in the 'Watch it Unfold' section of this website. He will ensure it is looking good and informative. Mr Chris will also invite other schools to the Exhibition specifically Hanoi International School who are another local PYP school. Mr Chris will also be available Period 8's on Mon, Tue Thu and Fri to assist with groups selecting drama
ES Librarian - Julie Conroy
Ms. Conroy, Elementary School Librarian, is responsible for assisting Grade 5 students during the Exhibition with various aspects of research including: Aid students on how to access and use UNIS Library electronic databases and print resources as well as Internet sites outside of UNIS. Promotion of Academic Honesty through an

Information Technology Integration Specialist - Michelle Matias
One of Michelle's roles during the Exhibition is to provide the student guidelines about Academic Honesty. From the 18th of March, Michelle's schedule is amended so that she is available to work with Grade 5 students every Period 8. During this time she will facilitate students on ICT projects relating to the exhibition for example the use of technological media in their final presentation. During the last two weeks of the Exhibition Michelle will amend her schedule to work almost exclusively with Grade 5 students on a needs basis.
Grade 5 PE Teacher - Andrew Dutton
Just before the Exhibition commences the PE Department runs some special team building activities. During the Exhibition weeks the PE department will carry out normal PE lessons.
On the Monday and/or Tuesday of the final Exhibition Week Andrew (with the help of the PE department) will arrange a special whole Grade 5 two-period "run around" to help the students let off steam. This run-around will free up other teachers so that if necessary they can pull small groups of children to help them with the finishing touches of the Exhibition.
Grade 5 Visual Art Teacher - Patricia Dingelstad
From March 18th Ms Patricia will volunteer some of her time to be timetabled to help with the Exhibition some
Period 8s.
Grade 5 Music Teacher - Sally Oxenberry
From March 18th Ms Sally will be timetabled to help students with the Exhibition every Period 8.
Grade 5 Drama Teacher - Zippy
From March 18th Ms Zippy will be timetabled to help with the Exhibition every Period 8. Students choosing Drama as thir artistic media will have the option of Mime, Tableau or Radio Drama to focus on during the period 8s. Each of these three dramatic art forms will have already been taught to Grade 5 prior to the Exhibition so the students will be familiar with the general features of their chosen dramatic art form. Success criteria for a successful Mime, Tableau or Radio Drama will be developed in conjunction with the students and associated check-lists and or rubrics produced.

Grade 5 Teaching Assistants - Tran Thao Nguyen & Phuong Thao Nguyen
Nguyen and Thao have wide,supportive roles helping out with the Exhibition.One specific rolll they undertake is to insert a slideshop of the best photographs of each week's activities into the Watch It Unfold section of this website.
How does the IB describe the roles of teachers?
Role of teacher

• initiate, facilitate and guide the exhibition process; teachers should facilitate the process of the exhibition rather than teaching directly, with the exception of particular skills and/or knowledge that is required in order for the students to proceed with their chosen inquiry
• provide support for student inquiries, enabling students to overcome any problems encountered in the process
• plan collaboratively with other teachers
• communicate regularly with students, parents and other participants
• act as mentors as required or appropriate
• develop essential agreements with students regarding academic honesty to ensure that they are taking responsibility for their learning and being principled in the resources they are using; mentors and parents should be informed of these agreements
• encourage students to use a balance of primary and secondary sources; help students to access information; and ensure they know how to cite sources used in research
• ensure the participation of all students by considering their interests, accommodating learning styles and needs, and by determining prior knowledge
• empower the students to feel able to take action as a result of the exhibition
• assess the exhibition process ensuring all the essential elements are include
• keep detailed records of the processes involved including ongoing reflection
• encourage and join in with students to celebrate their learning.
